The difference between the rich and poor is the gap in difference in methods used by different social class to gather capital without a short period of time.

The rich do so via using venture capital such as IPO or charity donations and selling products and services for profit.

The poor generate money via lending from illegal loan-sharks, borrowing money, begging, lie cheat and steal money to amass large quantity of money within a short period of time. In desperate cases among the poor, some even resort to kidnapping and robbery to gather capital at huge risk.

The difference between both social classes is that the former uses their brains and communication to accumulate their capital/wealth whereas the latter uses either unlawful methods else brute force to accumulate their capital/wealth.

To climb the social status ladder slowly and safely, an individual must learn the ropes nice and slowly in a conducive environment. To generate money, one must learn different methods and the simplest safest way is to learn the ropes to doing a business as the first step.

By starting a business, if the business owner knows how to properly borrow, rent instead of buy, paying commissions instead of salaries and many other tricks to keep cost low. All they need is to learn how.
