Having just watched World of Thieves by Andy Lau, the end was a tragic ending. Andy Lau stood by his promise to his wife at the expense of his life in an attempt to protect a lamb (prey for a dumb naïve and innocent guy with 60,000 yuan who was on his way back to his village to start a family) hoping to do the right thing to give a proper answer to his unborn child. With the ending song, although it’s a normal lonely song when pieced with the tragic ending it was a perfect combination causing me to shed nothing but tears. I’m glad I didn’t took the wrong path leading to greed. Thanks to a wonderful variety of negative experiences and hardship which fine-tuned me into who I am today and in future.

Inside the show, Andy Lau was actually nicknamed the ghost thief for his heartless theft behaviors which earned him his nickname. He who was very insistent on stealing the 60,000 yuan from the lamb to wake him up from his dream believing that there’s no bad people. That moment, it reminded me of my inner struggle and the lure of greed towards James Phang back than Sunshine Empire who was the King of Scams within South-East Asia. Having to go through his lessons and learn directly from him only to realized he’s the real ghost even deceiving his students to cast a wider net. That scene which Andy Lau exchanged conversation with the female lead who acted as his wife. That moment left a heavy impression on me. Thoughts just came flashing back on how I made the choice of turning a new leave leaving the unpleasant journey of MLM, sales and marketing tactics which I learnt. I’m happy that I’m no longer greedy to go after such materialistic needs.

Thanks to the first nasty blow of experience when I first started my path down MLM at the age of 16, that made me want to learn more and more, exploring what’s right and wrong, making who I am today, with the ability to immediately see through a MLM company be it their vision or direction with just one full complete tour of the company with proper explanation. Such skills and eye observations skills can be learnt but not many really pay much attention to such a skill to begin with in the industry since they are after short term profits and not looking ahead of them.

Having watched this movie, which made me went through a lot of self reflection, I can proudly say that I didn’t regret going into the depths of MLM companies and learning from them inside out wanting to know their secret of brainwashing people and the secret to large sales.

In the world of business, when it comes to entrepreneurship, it’s all about sales and marketing. Once the position and frame work is all set in place, sales will follow you without you being the salesman. All that is needed is to brand yourself properly as the consultant in that particular niche you’re about to venture into. Giving your potential clients value for money explanation to help them understand more about themselves and what products are suitable for them.

There’s more to the sales than sales itself. Selling a product is simple, marketing product to a blind audience to a big unknown group is difficult but the returns are huge. That’s where position, branding, market awareness and marketing comes into play before huge chunk of sales are created in an instant or over a short period of time. More will be shed when the time comes.
