Opportunity is often linked to luck and luck can be linked up to knowing the right people. Opportunity is a chance to take a shot for a contender of a certain position for a reward within a stipulated period of time.
Opportunity cost in business is often and commonly associated with networking with is all about knowing the right people. Sometimes, the most geeky or nerdy person next to you might turn out to the your benefactor in future which often take people by surprise.
Opportunity should be grabbing on tightly, and cherish for people who were being presented with such chances, but when people reject by saying no, they are giving themselves up without even attempting to try. Than when the second person who were once presented the same opportunity right after the person who rejected it experience success and even unprecedented level of success, those people who rejected the offer will than be commenting, it’s just being lucky only la, I’m better than him in so many aspects, if he can do it, so can I and so continue to brag about the lost chance claiming he was once offered the position and not reflecting on his/her personal problem.
Even if another opportunity comes their way, the same mentality will surface again this time saying, trying to pick bones from eggs picking on small little issues not important and discrediting him/herself from the opportunity.
Do it once, do it twice without reflection, and opportunities will just keep on flying across you without you even knowing if you don’t know how to grab and cherish the opportunity which could help you succeed.
How I know this, because this happened to me lots of time, back when I was young and can’t think for myself, often following the masses, thanks to the gullible side of me, which I made a failed investment decision causing me myself to part with more money thus increasing my mental prudence and intelligence which isn’t taught in school.
Such experience will only be share and learnt when individuals are willing to accept their own mistakes, do reflections and than be committed to changing themselves
Once you change your thinking, perception to what stays and leave your brain, getting the right knowledge and thoughts for success, than only will the opportunities be cherish, maximized and successful will prevail.
There’s a common saying: You are what you eat; but I think it should be you are what you think.
Thinking translates to action; action translates into results, which justifies the process contributing to the results. Results is only made possible when an individual picture him/herself in that situation, and work hard towards it, looking at the details, and overcoming the hurdles and difficulties that comes their way via perseverance and by being a visionary.
