Leadership is a skill which can be picked up by observation and learning else are blessed with natural leadership roles.
As I was watching a repeated telecast Korean drama show just now about a conquest to be the king, this topic came into my mind and here I am writing about it. It’s not easy being a leader neither is it difficult to begin with.
All that is required to be a leader is just to have at least two or more people willing to be the followers. What attracts people to follow them? Money, Wealth or Power, there’s differences among the three reasons which I’ve just mention.
Money can be used to buy over almost all the things like position, fame and honor. As long as the person who pays have the ability to continue his/her up-keeping of the people who are willing to be paid, than it’s no longer of a problem if both sides agree with the status quo. There’s however a existing problem with this type of money bought over leadership. In the event of a company problem, or personal problem which is serious enough to go against the law, the followers who was being bought over using money will be someday eventually be bought over to the other side whoever pay a higher fee. This type of leadership is a failed leadership role, but such leaders are still around in Singapore. An example will be the gangsters. All their fellow man below the leaders are all being paid with money for every single thing that they do which violates the law. Without the influence of money, who would be stupid to get themselves into trouble? If you think there isn’t, you’re wrong, there’s really such people who like to poke their nose into other people’s business even if they got nothing to gain and I’ve met such people.
As for followers who follow the wealthy individuals, I can only say that these followers have made the right choice, to be able to follow somebody who can guide them to increase their own wealth is a skill which not many know of and so if you who is reading this right now ever come across somebody who’s always full of ideas and plans, try to follow them, learn and absorb while at the same time exchange ideas, who knows there might be extra benefits to gain. This might sounds like making use of one another but from my point of view, it’s to leverage on one another strengths and work together to scale a higher mountain. No mountain is high enough not to be reached by man as long as determination and with strong will power, nothing is impossible.
As for leaders who rule the group by power, this is the most dangerous type of group. A leader, who instills FEAR into every single person within the group, is like a volcano waiting to be erupted at any point of time. It’s a good short term controlling tactic used on a day to day basis but not applicable in a family or on adults because when used this method on people who can think with their brains, someday it’s going to be pay-back time be it one person or a whole group who go against the leader. Examples of such are happening every month in neighboring countries, just look at the number of riots whereas civilians going against the arm forces. By nothings even without the use of weapons, civilians will eventually win in the long run if nobody goes to work at the influence of the riot leaders.
So when it comes to being an entrepreneur, one has got to be claim and maintain his/her composure in face of crisis or an immediately problem that needs immediate rectification. Panic and being lost of direction in face of adversity of the whole group will cause a leader to surface and take charge. Leaders can be taught and trained up but there’s hardly any practical training thus to be a leader, the core foundation of oneself has to be there. Be claim and composed like a mountain taking everything against it like nothing has happened.
