Copying

posted by ryan

Copying is something which every single one of us was taught from birth. Copying is even practiced during examinations, in schools and in everyday lives.

Copying isn’t something that we should adopt if we strive to be an entrepreneur in the making or soon to be boss. For entrepreneurs soon-to-be, individuals should adopt another kind of thinking, instead of copying, we would now use the word –remodeling.

Although both words – copying and remodeling generally means the same but the intent of the words is totally different. Copying is to adopt a Monkey See, Monkey Do approach which is equivalent to the following a blind leader. Whereas remodeling means to first copy a system which already exist in the market and add new features and unique selling propositions to make a system more attractive than package it up and sell it off at a much higher price resulting in a profit.

So the next time somebody tells you to copy, you should learn to say no and adopt a remodeling approach instead.
